Kindergartens, this will be my last set of activities for you. Since we could not have a Tabloid day celebration in the park I have created a day for you to celebrate the year with your family. Your teachers will pass it on to you. I hope you enjoy it! Family Fun Field day! FAMILY FUN INDOOR FITNESS (5 days of different kinds of indoor fitness fun!) You will need some help from Mom and Dad! Click on the blue link each day for some different ways of staying in shape. Day 1- Scrabble fitness, Day 2 - Fortnite hip hop fitness, Day 3 - Connect 4, Connect 4 page 2 Day 4 - Tabata Ultimate. Day 5 - Elementary dice. Try these as a family!! CARDIO- Here are some workouts to do on your own or with with family! You tube- Dance and Freeze, Shake your Sillies out, Go Noodle- Cookie Boogie, Poppin' Bubbles This week have a blast with this family fun workout. Can you do this workout? Count how many skips it takes to run around the outside of your house? How many jumps jumping 2 to 2 is it across your yard? How many hops is it from your living room to your fridge? Try playing horse tag. Put a tail (a facecloth or a piece of fabric) in the back of your pants to become a horse. Person that's "it" chases others running. If tagged that horse gallops three times around the corral then can re-enter the game. Mark a circle for the "corral" about as big as the "papa bear" circle in the gymnasium. Can you try the Super Mario workout and choose exercises safe for you? This is a fantastic video with so much motor learning! You will have to find things at home as substitute materials. Then try to practice with partner basic dance step - step touch to one side, then the other doing it on same side as partner, (mirror image of each other). Can you add a twirl holding one arm with a partner then with holding both hands? Can you do the twist twisting your feet and going down to the floor and back up? Can you add your own moves to your routine? This week try learning the chicken dance! How did you do? Now we will add a snowball dance to your collection. Dance in whatever way you want to this song, when "freeze" comes on that's a snowball and find a new dance partner if possible! Click on the blue freeze for the song. Everyone loves the limbo! can you find a long stick or a broom and challenge your family to see who can get the lowest under the broom? Remember knees can't touch the floor, your head or body can't turn and you can't touch the bar! How low can you go?? Here's a limbo instruction and amazing limbo dancer!! Join Maximo for a dance called the twist! He's funny!! Hey kids! Try the superhero dance!! ROPE SKIPPING! Rope skipping is excellent exercise and is fun! Once you know the basics you can do many tricks! Do you remember the first three tricks?(First size your rope making sure it comes up to your armpits.) 1) Stretch your arms out in front and then pull them out to the side "Tadaa!! 2) After "tadaa" bring the rope over your head arms out wide and say "See it" when you look up and see it over your head. 3) After the rope comes over your head lift your toes and catch the rope and do a toe catch. Now try all three tricks! DON'T JUMP in these first three steps!!! How did you do? Now you can try doing tadaa, see it and THEN one jump. The rope has to turn over your head first! After you do one jump keep your arms wide and keep turning the rope so you can do more jumps!!! Try it! Strength- Try to do alphabet pushups to the end of the alphabet. Can you sit in a tuck position with feet off the floor and hold it for 20 seconds? This week try being the strongest animal- For Kinders the turtle Try 5 star jumps, 5 stride jumps, 5 shoulder touches in push up position, 5 curl ups, then run around your house. Repeat two times. We will move ahead to the monkey level; 10 star jumps, 10 stride jumps, 10 shoulder touches, 10 curl ups, run around your house three times. Repeat! Try to do ten or more "wall push ups" standing up and doing a pushup against a wall. Also try ten 1/2 burpees- start in tuck position on the floor with hands on the floor, jump legs back out to push up and back in. How many times can you do it? Start with ten and see if you can get to twenty times. Can you jump 2 to 2, 10 times then two feet to one foot? Can you jump two to two quickly and also slowly and jumping side to side? FLEXIBILITY- Can you do the rocking chair on your tummy and grab your ankles for a back stretch? Can you try side splits? Can you touch your toes when sitting in a pike sit and in a straddle sit? Hold each stretch position for 10 seconds. Super simple stretching will be great to stay limber. Here are some yoga poses to stay flexible. Can you do the side splits? Can you stand up on your knees and bend backwards and see the floor? Then go forwards and stretch in yoga childs pose. |
